Better late than never, here is my week 3 of Me Made May.
I’ve realised what stops me wearing me made on a day to day basis: work. Unfortunately, I have a boxy black shirt to wear as uniform which does restrict me. I have made a few separates to go with it but I’ve realised how winter-y they are so I’ve not really been able to wear handmade to work recently. Fortunately, we do dress down Friday which does give me some opportunity. Last Friday, I wore my Simplicity 1940’s Blouse – this really has had a lot of repeats this month.
I also wore my Tilly & the Buttons Margo pyjama bottoms a couple of evenings this week, so comfy!
The third part of my Me Made May challenge was to make a dress for the Big Simplicity Blog Meet. It was at the sewing machine until the final hour but it was so nice to take it out for it’s first spin on the day. Blog post to follow!
So, wardrobe gaps spotted so far are summed up in every day wear. Separates to wear to work which are good for all seasons and casual clothes that I can throw on once I finish work.
Think I’m going to start with a nice plain top, just need to find a pattern I like and some nice jersey fabric.
That daisy fabric is so pretty!

I like both blouses. They look very adaptable for different occasions.

Thank you! I love things that can work for lots of occasions, you get so much wear from your wardrobe that way!

I forgot to say that I love the little photo of you and Sam on your wedding day. It does indeed look vintage. I’m reminded of the 1960s. You look a little like the pretty Mod model Patty Boyd in that photo.
